William Joseph Sandly Sr., 55 of Clarks Summit, formerly of Taylor, passed away on Febuary 27, 2014 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Cheryll Murray Sandly.

Born in Justus, he was the son of the late Donald Albert and Clara Howells Sandly. He was a 1977 graduate of Lakeland High School. He was a self-employed Landscaper. Bill also coached and mentored the varsity football program at Riverside High School, Taylor Junior Vikes, Sloan Little League Baseball, and the Taylor Teener League Baseball. He will continue helping others, as he was an organ donor.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and donating to the Arbor Day foundation. He was also an avid Boston Red Socks fan.

Also Surviving are his children, William Sandly Jr. and his wife Danielle of Old Forge; Stephen Sandly, Wilkes Barre; Jason Sandly and his wife Kerry, Elimsport; and Cheryll Sandly and her fiancé William Sledzinski, Clarks Summit; three brothers Merle Sandly and his wife Mila, Waldorf, MD; Albert Sandly and his wife Judith, Scranton; and Frank Sandly and his wife Wendy, Clarks Summit; three sisters Donna Confletti and her husband Rocco, West Wyoming; Cindy Sandly, Edwardsville; and Leona Kishbaugh and her husband Patrick, Scranton; his uncle Joseph Sandly, Runnemede, NJ; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa, with services by Rev. James Buchanan, pastor of the Berean Interdenominational Church, Scranton. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Sunday from noon until time of service.
