William H. Rowlands Jr. 77, of 285 Mountain Valley Rd., Hallstead; passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. His wife of 16 years is the former Linda Searfoss.
Born May 13, 1936 in Scranton, he was the son of the late William and Romayne Wilcox Rowlands.
Bill worked as a truck driver for 43 years with Onieda Freight Inc., Syracuse; Brizier Inc., Jerymn; and Robsen Inc., Scranton; and Kaplin 3 in 1 Inc., Olyphant. He was a life member of the Blue Ridge Sportsmen's Club of Mew Milford Inc. and the Tioga County Kennel Club in Appalachian, NY. Bill was an avid lover of dogs and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and camping
Also surviving are three children, William III, New Jersey, Michael, Hallstead, and Lisa, Bangor; Three Step children; two brothers Joseph, Tunkhannock and Frank, Dalton; Eight Grandchildren, twelve great children and three step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 35 years Gwendolyn Benson, a brother Thomas and a nephew Jason.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 16, at the United Methodist Community Church Main St. Great Bend. Arrangements have been entrusted the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc.
