William Peoples, 72, of Factoryville, passed away Thanksgiving Day at River Run Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Kingston. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Mary L. Thomas.

Born in Newton on December 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Francis and Margaret Lubeck Peoples. He started his own business, Peoples Mobile Home Transportation, in 1976 until his illness. He loved the outdoors, fishing for salmon in Lake Ontario and hunting wherever the path may take him to. He enjoyed his favorite baseball team, the Phillies, and his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He was a very giving man and had a heart of gold.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the River Run Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility for their care and kindness they gave to him during his illness.

Surviving are a son, Brian; four daughters, Denise Volpi, Kim Wilbur, Sandra Stroble and Frances Peoples; a brother, Gerald Peoples; a sister, Patricia Crouse; ten grandchildren, Stephanie, Melanie, Nicolette, Breanne, Madisyn, Camiryn, Tiah, Ty, Ryan and Jake; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Bradley and William; grandson, Jonathan; and three brothers, Arthur, James and Robert.

A celebration of William's life will be held Monday at noon from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Glendale.

Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Mark Vanko Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 235, Factoryville, PA 18419.
