William F. McNally, 51, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center. His wife is the former Barbara Hoover.

Born in North Carolina, son of Frank T. and Lorraine E. Bligh McNally, he was the founder and president of Noble Bio Materials and the inventor of Silver Technology for anti-bacterial infections, for which he holds several patents. He served as a captain in the Marine Corps and participated on the All Marine Corps rugby team. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish. He was a student at Marywood University, where he was working on his Ph.D, as well as an adjunct professor at Lackawanna College. He loved being outdoors, especially when fly-fishing and hunting. He had a marvelous sense of humor, and was a great guy and brother to all.

Also surviving are two sons, Conor P., Clarks Summit; and Ryan M., Penn State University; a brother, James S., Oregon; a nephew, Owen; and two nieces, Meghan and Dierdre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, P.O. Box 301, Garrison, NY 10524.
