William "Rex" Lynady, 85, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. His wife, Ruth Lee Lynady, died July 6, 2010.

Born in Carbondale, son of late Paul and Marion Cox Lynady, he was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church. He was a proud veteran of the Army and a member of Abington Memorial Post VFW 7069.Rex was a dock foreman for Fowler & Williams Trucking for many years and most recently drove school buses in the Abington Heights School District for more than 35 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Maria Bergotta; a son, Paul Lynady; a stepdaughter, Lynn Viechec and her husband, Gary, Hazle Twp.; two stepsons, Wesley Dunn Jr., Massachusetts; and Scott Dunn and his wife, Vivian, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jean Lynady, who died last March.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. All those attending are asked to go directly to the church.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
