William C. Graff of South Abington Twp. died Friday evening at Regional Hospital of Scranton Hospice Unit. He and his wife, the former Elaine Green, celebrated 36 years of marriage April 5. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Mentz Graff.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late William M. and Frieda Stange Graff. Before retirement in 1989, he was a repairman leader for PP&L Electric Co. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, where he served on church council, holding many different offices, and sang with the choir for more than 20 years.

He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a past member of Irem Temple Shrine. He graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1943 and joined the Merchant Marine, serving only one year when the Korean War started. He also served a year in Indiana with the Army's 109th Infantry Division.

He was avid golfer, shooting a hole-in-one at Scranton Municipal Golf Course. His greatest regret was that he never broke 80. He was an avid bowler with the West Side church bowling league for more than 30 years and played in the church softball league during the 1950s and 1960s.

His faith, family and God were most important in his life. He lived by the creed, "If you can't say something good about someone, then don't say anything at all."

Also surviving are a daughter, Allyson Graff Cook and husband, Chris; two granddaughters, Alexis and Camryn Cook; a godchild, Doris Reynolds Repshis; and several cousins.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ, 132 N. Bromley Ave., Scranton. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.

Friends may call Monday, 3 to 7 p.m., at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, and Tuesday, 10 until the time of the service, at the church.
