Walter M. Peregrim Sr., 90, of Scott Twp., died Tuesday morning at Abington Manor Nursing Center in S. Abington Twp. He was the husband of the late Vera Miller Peregrim who died this past September.

Born in Blakely, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Peregrim. He was a graduate of Blakely High School and prior to his retirement was employed at the Clarks Summit Post Office. He was also the owner and operator of Miller's Orchards in Scott Twp. He was a member of the Waverly Masonic Lodge #301 F&AM and attended Parker Hill Community Church, Waverly.

Walter enjoyed doing word puzzles, Manning's chocolate yogurt, hot chocolate, and Starbucks sweet treats. He also loved to share his vast knowledge of apple trees and farming in general. But his main enjoyment in life was spending time with his family especially holding his great grandchildren.

Surviving is a son Walter Peregrim Jr. and his wife Robin, Scott Twp.; three daughters Dr. Marie Minnich and her husband Dr. Steve, Danville; Elizabeth Graves and her husband Bob, S. Abington Twp.; and Amy Smith and her husband Skip, Keene NH, two brothers John Peregrim, Fla. and Mike Peregrim, Blakely; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters Jane Ligosh, Anne Peregrim, Betty Derco, and Millie Juris.

A funeral service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Miller Cemetery.
