Walter D. Longcor Sr., 90, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday evening at Abington Manor. His widow is the former Velma P. Tradesco.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Maus Longcor, he was a resident of Clarks Summit for the past 50 years. Before retiring, he was a tax accountant for International Salt Co. for 44 years. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, where he served as deacon and an elder. He was a graduate of the University of Scranton and enjoyed golf, tennis and bowling.

Also surviving are a daughter, Velma E. Burkhardt, and a son, Walter Longcor Jr., both of Clarks Summit; a granddaughter, four great-grandchildren and a nephew.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Longcor; and a brother, William Longcor.

A funeral service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School St., Clarks Summit, to be officiated by the Rev. William G. Carter, pastor.

Friends may call Friday, 5 to 7 p.m., at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
