Virginia Edna Fogarty, 78, of Clarks Summit, died Monday morning At Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. She was the wife of Daniel Thomas Fogarty, who also died Monday morning. The couple had been married for 57 years.
Born in Teaneck NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Charles and Margaret Edna Ullrich Lachmann. She was a graduate of Bogota High School in Bogota NJ. She and her husband were both founding members of the Sandvik Retiree Association.
Virginia was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Surviving is a son Kevin, Clarks Summit; four daughters, Keren Ann Miller, and husband Jeff, Jessup; Kelly Weaver, and husband Kenneth, Mountaintop; Kathy Fogarty, Clarks Summit; and Linda Durso, and husband Mike, Waymart; eight grandchildren Devon and Daniel Fogarty, Alyssa and Lindsay Miller, Brittany Zeunges, Gabrielle, Brooke, and Mikey Durso, one great granddaughter Hailey Zeunges, an aunt Viola Ullrich, Maywood, NJ; a cousin Joyce Ullrich, Maywood, NJ, two nephews Charles and Chris Lachmann, and a niece Barbara Slade.
She was preceded in death by a brother Charles Lachmann.
Friends may call Friday December 14th from 5 to 8pm, with a blessing service to be held at 7:30pm by Rev. Robert McLaughlin, great nephew, at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. Internment will be held Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
