Viola Mae Compton, 91, of Factoryville, died Sunday morning at her home in Factoryville. She was the wife of the late Elmer E. Compton, who died in 2016.

Born in Sterling, PA, she was the daughter of the late Melchor and Laura Mae Hartford Fueglein.  Viola devoted her life to caring for her family and enjoyed trips to the casino.  She was a very competitive pinochle player. Viola was a member of the Juanita Chapter #8 Order of the Eastern Star, Abington Memorial VFW Post 7069 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.

Surviving is a son Brian Compton, Dunmore; a daughter Suzanne Wirak and her husband Dana, Woodbridge Conn.; three grandchildren Nick, Gregory, and Sophia Wirak, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat "Penny".

Viola was the youngest of eleven children.  She was preceded in death by four brothers, Don, Frank, Harry, and Bill, and six sisters, Mildred, Leona, Rena, Lilly, Betty and Lucy.

The family would like to thank Traditional Home Health Care and Hospice and the Factoryville Vol. Fire Co. for their wonderful care and support during Viola's Illness.

A funeral Service will be held Thursday at 10am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411, with services by Rev. Andrew Weidner, pastor of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

The Family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8pm with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Traditional Home Health Care and Hospice, 113 West Drinker St., Dunmore 18512, the Factoryville Vol. Fire Co., College Ave., Factoryville Pa. 18419, or the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd. S. Abington Twp. 18411.
