Vincent R. Roberto, 85, of South Abington Twp., died Friday at the VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center following an illness. His widow is Marian Greggs Roberto.
Born in Dunmore, son of the late Anthony and Angela Caglioti Roberto, he served in the Navy during World War II. He was the owner and proprietor of Roberto's Pet Shop in Chinchilla.
Vince enjoyed spending time with his family and attending Dunmore High School football games. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church.
He showed great perseverance during his illness.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mario Sebastianelli, Dr. Edward Batzel, Dr. Chau Fe Huang and the staff at Community Medical Center and Mercy Special Care for their kindness, compassion and dedication.
Also surviving are a son, Chris Roberto and wife, Karen, South Abington Twp.; a daughter, Pam Addeo and husband, John, South Abington Twp.; two grandsons, Ryan Roberto and Brandon Addeo; a sister, Adeline Michalek, Dunmore; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Gemma Baun and Phyllis Palmasani; and two brothers, Albert and Rudy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin Mulhern. Interment will be in Dunmore Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements by the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
