Vera M. Peregrim, 84, of Scott Twp., died Saturday afternoon at Allied Skilled Nursing Center in Scranton. She was the wife of Walter M. Peregrim Sr. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in June.
A lifelong resident of Justus, daughter of the late Howard D. and Cecilia Kerr Miller, she was a graduate of Scott High School and went on to continue the family business, Miller's Orchard, as well as being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Parker Hill Community Church and enjoyed spending time in Florida. She was also actively involved in the Scranton Farmers Market since she was a little girl. Vera will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Also surviving are a son, Walter Peregrim Jr. and wife, Robin, Scott Twp.; three daughters, Dr. Marie Minnich and husband, Dr. Steve, Danville; Elizabeth Graves and husband, Bob, South Abington Twp.; and Amy Smith and husband, Skip, Keene, N.H.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Glenn A. Miller.
The funeral service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Miller Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Sacred Heart charity of the donor's choice .
