Thomas (Tom) Miles

Thomas (Tom) Miles, 93, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at his home in Clarks Summit.

Tom was born November 19, 1932 to Chester and Hazel Turner Miles. He graduated from Clarks Summit High School and attended the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL for one year. He did not return to college after an aircraft accident with his father where they were both badly injured. He worked for his father at Miles Auto Parts in Clarks Summit and then managed that business for many years after his father started Miles Foundry.

He is survived by two brothers, Richard (Harriet) of Macon, NC and Robert of Hanover, NJ and one sister, Judy Miles deMont of Lexington, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Byron and Byron’s wife Jeanne Corrigan Miles and his nephew Chris deMont. Tom will be long remembered as a very happy and cheerful person, willing to help anyone who needed it, by his siblings and many nieces and nephews, along with their families, and friends.

Per Tom’s request, services will be private and interment will be at the Newton Cemetery.
