Thomas G. Schweitzer Jr., 69, of Dalton, died Monday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Elizabeth Armbrust Schweitzer and the late Thomas G. Schweitzer. He was a graduate of Benton High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University. Tom served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a comptroller for several companies including Grumman Olsen.
Tom was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Also surviving, in addition to his mother, are a brother David and his wife Sandra, Dalton; three sisters, Elizabeth Witt, Fincastle VA; Gretchen Tiblin, Fredericksburg VA; Lee Ann Reeves and husband Robert, Gainesville FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit PA. 18411. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
Friends may call Saturday from noon until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 500 South Washington Ave., Scranton, PA 18505 .
