Thomas Palesky, 94, of Scott Twp., died Monday at the Gino Merli Veterans' Center in Scranton.  His wife was the late Florence Minicozzi who died in 2012.  The couple had been married for 66 years.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Nellie Skrutski Palesky.  Prior to his retirement he was a sheet metal worker at the Tobyhanna Army Depot.  He was a proud veteran of the Army Air Force, serving in the Southern Pacific during WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star.  He enjoyed gardening and cooking for his family.

Tom was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife and always loved animals, especially his dogs Nika and Casey who predeceased him.

Surviving are his daughters, Deborah Hazen  and Barbara Griguts and her husband Michael; a brother Jackie and a sister Betsy; three grandchildren, Mark Hazen and his wife Jessica, Michele Griguts and her husband Bob Keach, Brian Griguts and his wife Erin,; four great grandchildren, Bobby Keach, Michael J. Griguts, Brianna Keach and Eli Griguts; several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding him in death were four brothers, William, Daniel, George and Anthony "Duke" and three sisters, Patsy, Eleanor and Millie.

Private services and interment in Fairview Memorial Park with military honors will take place at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA  18411.

Memorial donations may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., So. Abington Twp., PA  18411.
