Thomas Mongno, 68, of Lenox, died Thursday afternoon at Community Hospice Care in Mt Joy Pa.

Born in Queens NY, he was the son of the late Thomas and Josephine Kasteard Mongno. He was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School in Queens NY and went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army in Vietnam. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a nurse at Lebanon Hospital.

"Tommy" as he was known to his friends and "Flapper" to all his brothers, was a Charter Member of the Sons of Nam Motorcycle Club, a life member of the Elk Mt. VFW post 8488 where he served as Chaplin for fourteen years, life member of the American Legion, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Tommy has touched the lives of many people. He always enjoyed making people laugh and living life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving is his nieces Debra JoAnn Evans and her husband Mike , Elizabethtown; and their children Armani, Anesse, Annikah, Asa; Christine Waters; Harrisburg, Pa ; and Jackie Babb, St. Marys, Pa. ; and a nephew Thomas Glenn Mongno.

He was preceded in death by a brother Glenn Mongno.

A funeral service with full military honors will be held Sunday at 3 pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa 18411. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Sunday from noon until time of service.
