Listen to Obituary

Thomas Loughney, Roaring Brook Township, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Saturday at Geisinger CMC, Scranton.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Charlene C. Loughney and was a 1998 graduate of NEIU 19's Jefferson Center, Dunmore. He was also  a resident of Keystone Community Resources. Thomas brought joy and happiness by being unapologetically himself. If he wanted to  hold your hand, he held your hand. If he wanted to throw a drink at you, he did. If he found something funny, he laughed even if it was something he shouldn't laugh at. He found joy and happiness in the most simple things.

Surviving are two brothers, James and his wife Michele, Clarks Summit, and Keith and his husband Brad, Dalton; two sisters: Gail, Kingston, and Maggie, Clarks Summit; and six nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph P. Loughney in 1994.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and aides in PCU at Geisinger CMC for the excellent care during the last month.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Arbogaste Satoun, pastor. Interment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
