Thomas Sweet, Jr.

Thomas Sweet Jr., 79, of Clarks Summit, died Friday morning at Lackawanna County Health Care and Rehab, Olyphant.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Thomas Sr. and Esther Lorenzo Sweet, he was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and served his country in the Air Force and Navy. He was employed as a manager for King Coil Mattress Co. and before retirement was employed as a truck driver for J&J Pallet Co. When he was not working, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne and Cathy Sweet, both of Clarks Summit; a sister, Karen Finkler and her husband, Ron, Dunmore; a niece, Joyce Hinkle and her husband, Ray, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Wulf and her husband, Jamie, Nicholson; and Stephen Gacek, Duryea.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call Monday from 6 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
