Sterling R. Colborn Jr., S. Abington Township died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
Born in Scranton he was the son of the late Sterling R. Colborn Sr. and Louise Davis Colborn.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country during WW II, he was a lifetime member of the Abington VFW Post 7069 and various American Legions across the country. Prior to retirement he was a cost accountant for Harper and Row in Dunmore for over 20 years.
Sterling enjoyed all types of cars and could recite the specifications of them all , he especially cherished having lunch with his two friends, Frank and Bob, for over 35 years.
Surviving are a son, Sterling R. Colborn III and his wife Susan with whom he resided; two grandsons Sterling R. Colborn IV, Harrisburg and Eric Colborn and his wife Angela, Dunmore; a sister Catherine Evans, Tunkhannock; four great grandchildren Eric, Kaylie, Anthony, and Meadow Colborn and nephew Ronald Evans and wife Donna, Factoryville.
The funeral service will be on Monday at 7 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment with military honors will be private at the convenience of the family in Abington Hills Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 5 pm until the time of the service.
