Stephen Edward Walsh III, 49, of Clarks Summit, passed away Tuesday at home after an illness. He was the husband of Gail Sokoloski Walsh.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Ruth Williams Martinez and the late Stephen Edward Walsh Jr. He was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and was employed as a union carpenter Local 645. Steve was also the owner and operator of his own construction company, Steve Walsh Construction.
Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He also loved playing pool. But his main passion in life was spending time with his family, and especially his grandchildren.
Also surviving are three daughters, Laura Brown and her husband, David, Jermyn; Nadine Bryant and her husband, Mike, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Tamera Walsh, Alabama; two stepsons, Eric and Adam Sokoloski, Clarks Summit; a sister, Patricia Walsh, Texas; a half-sister, Kelly Walsh, Chinchilla; a brother, James Gerrity, Moosic; a half-brother, Brian Walsh, Dickson City; five grandchildren, Nikolai, Hunter, Kyle, Harley and Jordyn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Brem, Dr. Alocci, Dr. Borowski and the Clarks Summit volunteer ambulance staff for the wonderful care they gave to Steve during his illness.
Family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
Funeral service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
