Stanley P. Butchar, 87, of Clarks Summit died Wednesday night in the VNA Hospice Unit at Community Medical Center. His widow is the former Nettie Potts. The couple would have been married 66 years next Dec. 18.

Born in Elmhurst, son of the late Stanley P. And Julie Gladys Butchar, he was resident of the Abingtons area for more than 56 years. Before retirement, he was the caretaker of the Glenwood Mausoleum for 46 years and an auto body repair man for Stauffer Chevrolet for 26 years and Abington Body for 2 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of VFW Post 7069, Clarks Summit.

Also surviving are a daughter, Ann Butchar, Scranton; a sister, Helen Martell, Taylor; and two grandsons, Stanley P. Butchar IV and Jon Potts.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and John Butchar; and a sister, Blanche Holovinski.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Glenwood Mausoleum on the Morgan Highway, with services by the Rev. John Whitmire, pastor of the Providence Baptist Church. VFW services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Glenwood Masoleum. Arrangements, Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
