Shirley Norsen

Shirley R. Norsen of Factoryville died Sunday afternoon at Allied Services Hospice Unit, surrounded by her family.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Evelyn Brown Rennie. She graduated from Central High School in 1947 and Lackawanna Business College in 1948. She was a retired employee of Aetna Life and Casualty and Akzo Salt Company. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chinchilla and an active member of the Social Salties group.

Shirley enjoyed travel, weeks on Long Beach Island with her cousins and friends, animals, flowers, fall days, breakfast and lunch at the Glenburn Grill, family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Alan W. and wife, Linda, Factoryville; and Barry A. Norsen, Factoryville; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jay Norsen; and five great-grandchildren, Lexi and Kaci Hubbs, Alison and Jayce Norsen, and Emma Morcom.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the United Methodist Church of Chinchilla, 411 Layton Road, to be conducted by Pastor Charles Consagra. Interment will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
