Shirley J. "Shirl" Daniels, of Waverly, died Friday morning in Community Medical Center. She and her husband, Leslie E. Daniels, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in September.
Born in Watertown, N.Y., daughter of the late Floyd R. and Ava Patrick Flansburg, she was a resident of Waverly since 1955. Before retirement, she was an administrative assistant for Agriculture Insurances Co., Watertown, and was a secretary for Glenn Falls Insurance Co., Syracuse, N.Y. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Waverly.
Also surviving are a son, Scott L. and wife, Lisa, South Abington Township; two daughters, Cathy L. Brody and husband, Robert, Massene, N.Y.; and Jamie D. Jones and husband, Douglas, Saunderstown, R.I.; a grandchild, Dillan Jones; two stepgrandsons and a stepgreat-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, F. James Flansburg.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
Friends may call Monday, 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Waverly; or the donor's favorite charity.
