Selmer B. Sampson, 92, formerly of Clarks Summit died at the home of his daughter, Carol Nebesney of Belle Mead, NJ. His wife is the former Virginia (Jean) Branning, the couple celebrated their 66 wedding anniversary last June.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Leon and Ethel Bailey Sampson. Prior to moving to New Jersey one year ago, he resided in Clarks Summit for 60 years. He was the former owner operator of Sampsons Garage in Clarks Summit from 1938 until his retirement in 1986. He was a Army Air Corp. Veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church and its Couple Class, a former Trustee, and a Sunday School Teacher. He was a 60 year member of the Waverly Lodge No. 301 F&AM as well as the Abington Keystone Consistory and the Irem Temple Shrine.

Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Nebesney. Belle Mead, New Jersey and Linda Armbrust, Clarks Summit; a brother Carl, Clarks Summit; a sister, Jean LaCoe, Tuscon, Arizona; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Armbrust.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10am from the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church, corner of Grove St. And the Morgan Highway, with services by Rev. Judy Wanck, pastor. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 6-8pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
