Listen to Obituary

Seldon Mark Williams, 87, of Tunkhannock, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 17, 2026.

Born at home in Lynn, PA on March 29,1939, he is the son of the late Elsie (Berry) and Earl F. Williams.

Seldon attended Elk Lake High School where he graduated in 1957. After graduation he worked with his father, who was a contractor, and did odd jobs until he enlisted in the United States Army. While serving the country that he loved he was stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia and trained in St. Louis, Missouri where he became a radio repairman. While in the Army he received a Good Conduct Medal along with The Expert Badge (Rifle) because he demonstrated the highest standard of basic combat weapon proficiency and target engagement. When he returned home to Pennsylvania he married and had four daughters.

Throughout a lifetime of frequent moves Seldon taught his girls how to adapt, proving that 'home' wasn't a specific place, but wherever they were together. He worked hard at different jobs to provide for his family before settling into his career with the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier where he delivered mail in the Black Walnut & Auburn area. He was a jack-of-all-trades and used his skills to help anyone who needed it. He had a huge heart for others. He loved antique cars, woodworking and tinkering with anything that needed to be fixed.

More than his hobbies, Seldon, was a provider, a teacher and a steady anchor for the family that he loved so much and was so proud of. He was "Grandpa" or "G-Pa" to his grandchildren and "Great Grandpa" or "GG Pa" to his great grandchildren. He loved every single one of them and would light up whenever they were around.

He is predeceased by his parents Elsie and Earl Williams; his siblings Elvin (Millie) Williams, Shirley (Jack) Schwartz, Mary (Charlie) Rapp, Marjorie Gilbert, Donald (Helen) Williams, Calvin (Verna) Williams, Patricia Fusner and Jean Williams.

He is survived by his brother David Williams; his daughters Michelle (Doug) Kasmierski, Stacy (Richard) Rogers, Jody (John) Kwiatkowski, Jaime (Nick) LaChase and their mother Nora Williams; 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart. We cannot thank Samantha, Jacqui and Justin enough for the compassionate care and support given during his illness and final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend Seldon's funeral services which will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W.
