On Monday, August 28, the world lost a great and blessed person, Sarah J. Lenahan, 74, of So. Abington Twp. Sally was not only the best wife to Richard Lenahan, for almost 40 years, but was his best friend. As a mother she always strived to support her children and grandchildren.
Born in Kearny, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Stone Horrocks.
She attended Kearny High School and the Lackawanna Career Technology Center. She was employed as a Part Specialist for the U. S. Navy and prior to retirement worked for Worthington Pump in Harrison, NJ. Sally was most devoted to her Christian faith in support of her church, Shepherds Chapel.
She was a true supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project, the NRA, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter. She loved raising her dogs, which were special to her life, especially Boxers and Boston Terriers.
Her favorite times included holiday meals with her family and trips to her New Milford home (Tara). She enjoyed early American oil painting, counted cross stitch projects, camping, handmade Christmas items, Bible study, home cooking and country western music. She will be physically missed by all, but will remain in our hearts. Go Calf, Go Steer !
In addition to her husband, Sarah is survived by three children and their spouses: Marilyn Pisani and her husband Ralph; Joseph Ferrara and his wife Melissa; and CathyJo Leister and her fiancée Thomas Giuttari; nine grandchildren: Eamonn McGonigal, Travis Pisani and his wife Stephanie, Ralph "RJ" Pisani, Michelle, Matthew and Joe Ferrara, Andrew, Julia and Charles Leister; and one great grandson Elias Pisani.
She was preceded in death by a son in law, Robert Leister and two sisters, Muriel Pollock and Sandra Krulick.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 7 pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 7, prior to the service.
