Sandra Thatcher

Sandra Thatcher, 45, of Tunkhannock passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, alongside her beloved husband of 12 years, Peter Thatcher, and their cherished children, Noah and Layla, following an accident.

Born on March 13, 1981, in Wilkes-Barre, she is the daughter of Vito and Lou Ann (Wrubel) Rinaldi.

She was a 1999 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. For the past five years, Sandra worked at McDonald's, where she was known not only as a dedicated employee but also for her enthusiasm in supporting charitable efforts. She was especially passionate about the Ronald McDonald House and was very active in McDonald's Round-Up initiative, encouraging others to help support families and children in need.

Sandra's faith was an important part of her life. She was a devoted member of the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Christian Education Director. She loved volunteering at the church and especially treasured the opportunity to work with children, sharing with them her faith, kindness, and caring spirit.

Her desire to serve extended throughout the community. Sandra helped with the annual Thanksgiving dinner at the Seven Loaves Soup Kitchen and was always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Whether helping through her church, supporting a community cause, or doing something special for children, Sandra found great joy in helping others. She had a generous heart and believed deeply in giving back to the community she called home.

Away from her many acts of service, Sandra enjoyed cooking and, above all, spending time with her family. Her family was at the center of her life, and the moments they shared together were among those she treasured most.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, Richard Shaughnessy (Judene), Deanna Garnett (John), Gail Schultz (David Hazeltine), Laurie Spadine (Mark), Tina Evans (Charles) Michael Rinaldi (Jen), Rachel Howie (Dakota); several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the Thatcher Family's name to the BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge), 1445 North Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO 65802.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to honor the Thatcher Family on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM from the Tunkhannock Assembly of God Church, 181 Bridge St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
