Sandra (Sandy) Kay Henley, of Ransom Township, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 9, 2021 in her home.

Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Milton and Hazel Pearl Decker Petty. After she graduated from Abington Heights High School, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work as an Administrative Assistant. A couple of years later, she married John V. Henley. They were married for 16 years. She was a homemaker when her children were young. She then worked at Ray's Market in Factoryville, PA, up to the time of her retirement.

Surviving is a son John L. Henley, Clarks Summit, PA; a daughter Renee Swartz, Glen Burnie, MD; two grandsons: Austin and Andrew Swartz, Glen Burnie, MD; two sisters: Barbara Piazza, Clarks Summit, PA and Linda McClure, Visalia, CA; two brothers: William Petty, Clarks Summit, PA and Ray Petty, Florence, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

Her faith in God had guided her throughout her life. She was a fun, wonderful, and loving mom and grandmother. She enjoyed baking for her family; chocolate baked goods were her favorite. She was also very creative and talented with arts and crafts projects and enjoyed working with family on these projects. She will always be remembered for her humor and kindness.

A memorial will be held on October 16 th at 2 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA  18411. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
