Ruth K. Brister

Ruth K. Brister, 90, passed away on March 13, 2008 at the Shaire Center Nursing Home in Lenoir NC. Ruth was born Aug. 11 1917 to Alma and Rexford Kimble of Clarks Green Pa. She lived most of her life in the Clarks Green, La Plume, and Dalton area until 2005 when she moved to Lenoir NC to be close to her son Joe Brister and family. She graduated from Clarks Summit High School and was a member of Dalton United Methodists church. Ruth retired from the Ship and Shore Clothing Factory in Nicholson and was later employed by the Dalton Pharmacy for several years before officially retiring from the work force.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Fred J. Brister of 62 years, a son, David Brister, a sister, Francis Davis, a brother, Robert Brister, and a great-granddaughter, Lenae Shae Goodman. Survivors include her son Joe Brister and his wife Pat of Lenoir, NC, daughter-in-law Sharon Brister, Sister Marion Hardy both of Clarks Summit, seven grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held March 25th at 6:00 P.M at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, private at the convenience of the family in Clarks Green Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Association.
