Russell D. Richards II, Scott Twp., died Tuesday afternoon at his home.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Russell David and Winifred Klingel Richards.
He was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, and prior to retirement in 2003, he worked for Reliance Medical Xray where he repaired radiology equipment. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, outdoorsman and especially enjoyed time in the cabin he built.
Surviving are a daughter, Colette Richards, Riviera Beach, Florida; a son, John Kyle Richards in Thailand; his companion of 13 years Deborah Evans, Scott Twp.; his former wife, Marianne Richards, Florida; stepdaughters, Heather Evans, Chambersburg, PA and Courtney Leiphart, and husband, Brad, Hallam, PA; a sister, Donna Walker, and husband, Lloyd, Clarks Summit; three grandchildren, Brittany Class, Khyla Martinez, and Erica Hope Richards; four great grandchildren, Brianna, Owen, David and Keith; a niece, Amy Pelt and a nephew, David Walker and his wife Robin. He was preceded in death by a son, Eric.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, at 2:00 PM from the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 1341 Layton Road, Scott Twp., with services by Rev. Donald Hasselman, pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
