Ronald J. Thomas, 76, of Scott Township died Wednesday at home.
Born in Blakely, PA, he was the son of the late John C. and Helen Pezanowski Thomas.
Residing for much of his life in Blakely, Ron was a member of the Blakely High School Class of 1962. He was employed by Blakely Borough Electric for over 30 years. He later enjoyed working for John Joyce Electric on a part time basis.
Ron was a former member of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Dickson City and a current member of the Church of St. Gregory in Clarks Green. He was frequently a visitor of many other churches in the area. He was sustained by the prayers of congregants from churches in the Scranton, Mid Valley and Abington Areas.
Ron is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan Pregnar Thomas; a son, Brian J. of Williamsville NY, and Brian's girlfriend Jessica Kulak of Kenmore NY; sister-in law, Nancy Pregnar; brother-in-law, James Bostic; nephew Austin Bostic all of Silver Spring, MD; local cousins Loretta Kovaleski, Joseph Michalczyk, Joyce Pezanowski, Rita Moon, Mary Ann Gallagher and Marlene Obst; and many cousins from out of the area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Eleanor Thomas and Carol Rinaldi.
The Thomas family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Peters at NROC and Dr. Jignesh Sheth at The Wright Center in Jermyn, as well as their staffs, for the superior care and kindness they showed to Ron.
Per Ron's wishes, no viewing or services are planned. Memorial contributions can be made to conquer.org for rare cancer research, PO Box 896076, Charlotte NC 28289-6067, WPEL Radio, 251 High Street, Montrose PA 18801; or a church of the donor's choosing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
