Ronald G. Griswold Jr.

Ronald G. Griswold Jr., South Abington Twp., died at home Saturday morning. He was the husband of Christine Ann Ganz Griswold. The couple married in 2006 but have been life partners for the past 18 years.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., he was the son of the late Ronald George Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Gorski Griswold. Prior to retirement, he was employed by John and Patricia Atkins.

He was a 1972 graduate of Montrose High School. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoying gardening, cooking and animals, especially his beloved dog, Rico. Ronald had a passion for traveling and collecting puffins.

Also surviving are two stepsons, Douglas Bunavage, Newton Twp.; and Michael Boettcher and wife, Megan, Clarks Summit; a stepdaughter, Kimberly Boettcher and partner, Randy Morley; Newport, Vt.; two sisters, Mary Lou Ely, Macungie; and Karen Gleason and husband, Duane, Tamaqua; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

A funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. Mark Obrzut. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.
