Ronald T. Carpenter, 44, of Dalton, died Wednesday March 14 at Geisinger CMC in Scranton.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Barbara Damm Carpenter and the late Glendon Carpenter.  He was a 1991 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and had worked as a baker at Weis Market.  He was a member of Lake Winola United Methodist Church.

Throughout his life Ron was active in 4H, the Boy Scouts, High School Band and Orchestra.  He enjoyed his garden and liked being a beekeeper.  Ron had a love of all animals, especially his dachshunds.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother Matt Carpenter and his wife Malinda, West Abington Twp.; a sister Eleanor Kane and her husband Brian, Factoryville; nieces and nephews, Tanya and Joe Kasper, Tori, Trista, Shania, Anna, Michael, and great nephews Dylan, Ayden, and Nathan  ; aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed by many, especially his younger family members whom adored him and his ability to make them laugh.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 pm from the Lake Winola United Methodist Church, 326 Maple Dr., Lake Winola, PA 18625 with services by Pastor Nick McMichael. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from noon until the time of the service at 2 pm . In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter or the Lake Winola Fire Company.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411 .
