Robert "Bob" William Jacoby Sr.

Robert "Bob" William Jacoby Sr., 76, of Crystal River Florida, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2021, at Regional Hospital, Scranton PA with his family by his side.  Bob and his wife Karen Jacoby (Lord) just celebrated their 56 ^th anniversary in January.

Born in Scranton, PA, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Johanna Jacoby.  He was a 1962 graduate of Newton Ransom High School.  He drove tractor trailer for Matlock and Yellow Freight and then later owned and operated RW Excavating.

He loved traveling in his motorhome, camping with friends and family, and making new friends along the way.  He loved Florida so much, he and his wife Karen made it their new home.  He loved the Saint Lawrence River and his annual family vacations to Clayton, NY since the 1970's.  He also liked to hunt and fish, especially with his grandchildren.  He was a member of Waverly Lodge 301 F&AM, Valley of Scranton Scottish Rite, and the NRA.

Surviving are his wife Karen; children Donna Stangline (Dave), Springbrook, PA, Dave Jacoby (Amy), Clarks Summit, PA; grandchildren Breanne Ryan (Mike), Clarksville, TN, Sean McDonough (Jena), Clermon,t FL, Eric Jacoby, Scott Jacoby and Corinne Jacoby, Clarks Summit, PA; great grandchildren, Shane, Kyla, Lily, Brynn and Vivian; sister Denise Taffera (Bill), Falls, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son Robert "Bobby" Jacoby Jr. (April 2021), brother Kenneth Jacoby, and infant sister Janet Jacoby.

The family would like to give a very special thanks to Denise Taffera for her continuous help and support over the last several years.  The family would also like to thank the staff, especially Victoria, of the ICU at Regional Hospital for their wonderful treatment and compassion.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 15th at 1 p.m. at the Newton Cemetery, Newton Township.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Waverly Lodge 301, 118 North Abington Road, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 or Newton Ransom Fire Company, 1890 Newton Ransom Blvd, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
