Robert "Bob" Warren passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of May 11th at the Gardens at Tunkhannock.

He was born May 9, 1943, son of Albert John and Alice Genevieve (Searfass) Warren. He grew up in his family home on Church Street in Waverly next door to the home of his grandmother, Frances Scott Searfass. His mother was the Postmaster of the Waverly Post Office for 25 years, and also ran the penny-candy store that shared the Post Office space in the Waverly Community House.

Bob was a lifelong Christian Scientist and was proud of his faith.


He was a 1961 graduate of Clarks Summit-Abington High School. He was a straight A student and was a leader in the Mathematics and Astronomy clubs.
He attended Principia College in Elsah, Illinois, where he studied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, and Physics. He also attended Keystone Junior College and Wilkes College where he was an honor student. A studious academic, Bob had over 172 college credits, mostly in Electrical Engineering and Physics.


Throughout the rest of his life, he continued following his scholarly pursuits. He published papers on a wide range of topics, including his methodology for solving fourth power polynomial equations (which garnered attention in the mathematical community), producing exact values of the square roots of complex equations, solving cubic equations, and the design of a phase-selective AM detector to support AM multiplex broadcasting. Bob was proud to be a Citizen Scientist and was a member of Society of Amateur Scientists and a charter member of the Lackawanna Astronomical Society.


In addition to his scholarly works, Bob was passionate about his many trades and hobbies including repairing antique console tube radios, his practice of meditation and astral projection, his study of genealogy (he was a descendant of the Marquis de Breze of France, and a member of the Harding and Van Fleet family lines in the region) and Horticulture (He grew exotic plants and trees and cross pollenated gourds, squash and many other plants.) He was a master Chess player and had a lifelong love of classical music
He leaves behind many friends and family members who knew and loved him, Bob spent his last days in the company of his friends & family who were there to help celebrate his 78th birthday just days earlier.

A funeral service and entombment will take place at the Glenwood Mausoleum and Memorial Park, 703 Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit, with services by Karen Rickaby.


Arrangements have been entrusted to Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.


Bob had a great love of learning and books. Memorial donations may to be made to the Abington Community Library, 1200 W. Grove Street, Clarks Summit, PA 18411, in his name.
