Robert A. Santoni, 66, of Scranton died Sunday evening at Geisinger Hospital in Scranton. His partner of 43 years is Dale Thomas.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Elizabeth Grzech Santoni and the late Gilbert Santoni.  He graduated from Lakeland High School and Lackawanna College and was formerly employed by Weis Markets, Clarks Summit.

Bob and Dale loved collecting antiques and eventually went into the antique business, selling at shops On & On in Scranton, Time Machine Antiques, and Hawley Antique Exchange in Hawley.  Bob loved going to flea markets, estate sales, and yard sales.

Bob was a gentle, kind, and compassionate soul.  He never had any enemy and never spoke ill of anyone.  Anyone who ever met him loved him.  Bob always liked staying quietly in the background and never wanted to be the center of attention.

Bob had health issues most of his adult life, having had a kidney transplant from Dale in 1997.  Bob never let his health issues get him down and he never complained even when he was at his sickest.

Bob and Dale loved to travel, with his favorite trips being to Greece, Italy and Egypt.  Bob and Dale lived in Benton Township prior to moving to Scranton in 2011.  One of Bob's most favorite things to do was to go to their house up in the country and sit on the deck and enjoy the calm and serenity.  Bob and Dale were together 43 years and when you saw the one, you knew the other one was not far away.

He is survived by a sister Patricia and spouse Kurt; nephews Matthew Amacio (Sara), Steven Amacio (Lauren), Kurt Stiles (Kaylin), and John Thomas (Ellen); nieces Susan Thomas Chrzan (Tony) and Jennifer Thomas (Jenny); several great nieces and nephews, cousins, and his special group of close friends whom he loved dearly.

There will be no services at this time. Donations in Bob's memory can be sent to Gift of Life or an animal shelter of the donor's choosing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. States Street, Clarks Summit.
