Robert Joseph Plishka Sr., 74, of Clarks Green died Wednesday morning at his home. He was the husband of Catherine O'Boyle Plishka. The couple had been married for 49 years.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Michael and Anna Jedju Plishka, he was a 1958 graduate of West Scranton High School. Before his retirement, he completed a 35-year career as an electronic technician for Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a member of the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green.

Bob was very active in the Boys Scouts of America along with his son, and enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Laurel Garden Club, enjoyed woodworking and electronics and loved the many dogs in his life.

Also surviving are a son, Robert J. Plishka Jr. and his wife, Christine, Dubai, United Arab Emirates; a daughter, Karen Elizabeth Plishka, Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister-in-law, Mary Judith (Judy) O'Boyle, Scranton; a nephew and godson, Michael Plishka, Munroe Falls, Ohio; two grandchildren, Graham Andrew and Ella Grace Plishka; and other extended family.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Plishka; and a sister, Mary Ann Plishka.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, with services by the Rev. John Lapera, pastor. All those attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
