Robert N. Peffer, 67, of Glenburn, originally from the Keyser Valley Section of Scranton, died Tuesday morning after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Jeanne Brack Peffer. The couple would have celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary this coming October.

Born in Scranton, Robert was the son of the late Stanley and Amelia Neroski Peffer. He was a 1966 graduate of West Scranton High School and went on to receive an Associate's degree from Keystone College. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Prior to his illness he was a water treatment plant operator for SCI in Dallas and Exide in Dunmore. Robert was a life member of the Abington Memorial VFW post 7069 in Clarks Summit. He was of Catholic faith.

Robert had a heart of gold, touching many people's lives, and helping anyone who was in need of anything. He was a jack -of -all trades. Robert enjoyed camping and boating on Lake Oneida, his trips to Atlantic City. He loved his BMW and Harley Davidson, and having his private pilot's license. He had a great love for animals especially his dogs, Harley and Smokey, and his fish Emeril.

Also surviving are two daughters Susan Tassey and her husband William, Lake Sheridan; and Denise Ubaldini and her husband Ronald Jr. Scranton; a brother Frank Peffer, Scranton; a sister Betty Goreschak and her husband Joe, Throop; six grandchildren William Jr., Andrew, Ryan, and Tassey; Desiree, Corey, and Nico Ubaldini; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters Marie Crossin and Frances Wallace.

A memorial mass will be held Saturday at 9:30am from Our Lady of the Snow Church, 301 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411, with services by Msgr. Joseph Quinn, Pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no public calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Rd. Suite 415 Plymouth Meeting Pa. 19462 or the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd. S. Abington Twp. 18411.
