Robert James Huggler, 83, of Ransom Twp., died Friday afternoon at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. His wife of 61 years is the former Dorothy Mlinarski.?

Born in Ransom, son of the late Walter and Sophie Huggler, he was a graduate of Newton Ransom High School and was a Navy veteran. He grew up working on the family farm and before retirement, he was a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service. He attended the Country Alliance Church in Newton Twp.

Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He passed his love of the outdoors to his grandsons, Matthew, Collin and Dane. He truly enjoyed teasing each of his grandchildren to make them smile, especially Samantha and Dakota, who brought great joy to his life.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert and wife, Kathy, Baltimore; and Darin and wife, Lynne, Ransom; four sisters, Ruth Pasternak, Falls; Lorraine Fayocavitz, Ransom; Joan Degilio, Ransom; and Carol Bartholme, Newton; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Winters; and two brothers, Charles and Albert.

The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Country Alliance Church, 14014 Orchard Drive, Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Don Morgantini, pastor. Interment will be in Milwaukee Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday, 9:30 until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the Country Alliance Church.
