Robert H. Gercken, Sr.

Robert H. Gercken Sr., 71, of Clarks Green died Thursday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. He was the husband of Elizabeth Polito Gercken. The couple would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this June.

Born in North Hempstead, NY., he was the son of the late Henry and Meta Becker Gercken. He was a graduate of Valley Stream High School, NY. and was a proud US Navy Veteran. Prior to his retirement, at age 55, he was a computer analyst for Metropolitan Life for thirty years.

Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid reader and loved spending time on his computer. But most of all, he cherished his family and the time he spent with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Also surviving are sons Robert H. Jr. and his wife Stephanie and Christopher M. Gercken and his wife Michelle all of West Abington Twp.; and a daughter Lisa Geyer, New Milford; eight grandchildren Caleb, Amelia and Aiden Gercken; Delia, Holly and Duncan Geyer; and Connor and Natalie Gercken.

A funeral service will follow at 4pm with services by Rev. Lori Robinson, pastor of the Dalton United Methodist Church.
