Robert Evan Davies of Clarks Green died Saturday afternoon at the Allied Skilled Nursing Facility. He and his wife, Joan Sinclair Davies, had been married for 57 wonderful years.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Evan and Mabel Fagerlin Davies, he was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, received a degree in economics from Muhlenberg College and a business degree with a minor in economics as well as the class valedictorian at Keystone College. Before retirement, he was vice president of sales and marketing for Sprague & Henwood and also sales manager for Hoffman Diamond Products. He was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clarks Summit, where he loved volunteering his service. He served as vice president of the congregational church council, the senior choir and for many years chaired the worship ministry team. He was an Army veteran, serving after the Korean War.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cathy Davies and husband, Edward Fialek Sr., Clarks Green; and Mary Beth Davies, Clarks Summit; and a grandson, Edward Fialek Jr., Edison, N.J.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Evan Davies.

A memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 W. Grove St., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. George Mathews, pastor. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call at the church, from 10 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church
