Richard L. Watkins, South Abington Township died Friday evening at the Regional Hospital in Scranton. His widow is the former Joan Pacyna, the couple was married for over 50 years.

Born in Washington D.C. he was the son of the late Harold and Louise McGovern Watkins. He was a 1962 graduate of the University of Scranton and served in Army thereafter. Prior to his retirement he was a Director with Emery Worldwide. He was a member of the Lithuanian National Catholic Church and the Lithuanian Tauras Club.

Dick was a fun loving man who will be missed by many. He was known to quote Mickey Mantel, "If I knew I was going to live this long I would of taken better care of myself." He enjoyed holding court in the "Garage" with family and friends where all would gather to watch Yankees, NY Giants and Penn State games.

Also surviving are a son Eric and his wife Sally, a daughter Jennifer Goodstein and her husband Les; a brother, Harold and his wife Betsy; two sisters, Patricia Tatem and her husband Jim and Kathleen Fovargue and her husband Art; one grandchild, Madison.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Amy Watkins; and two brothers David and Donald.

A blessing service will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
