Richard P. Gulakowski, 72, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday morning at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. His wife is the former Nancy Pugh.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Veronica Gavronsky Gulakowski, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Before retiring, he was a machinist for Sandvik Material Technologies, formerly Sandvik Steel. He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit.
Richard was a devoted husband and father and was especially loved by his grandchildren, who called him Pop. He regularly attended his grandchildren's sporting events, Abington Heights Comets and Penn State football games.
Also surviving are a son, Randy and wife, Maribeth, Herndon, Va.; a daughter, Lisa Justave and husband, Gregory, Clarks Summit; six grandchildren, Jarrett, Brennan and Alyssa Gulakowski, Jon Kerzetski, Corey and Derek Justave; several nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Josephite; a brother, Joseph Gulakowski; and a granddaughter, Rachel Gulakowski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 300 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Friends may go directly to church. Entombment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
