Richard T. Gilpin, Overfield Twp., died Monday at home. He was married to the former Ruth Goodrich since 1963.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Jabez and Mary Headley Gilpin. Before his retirement, he was a converting technician at Plainwell Tissue in Ransom. He was also a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
He is also survived by a son, Mark Gilpin and his wife, Cheryl, Lake Winola; daughter, Sharon Hisle and husband, Daniel, New Market, Tenn.; brothers, James, David, Marvin, Melvin and Ralph; sisters, Joan Dymond and Carol Koons; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jabez, New Market, Tenn.; Kirsten Marie, Lake Winola; and Sarah Elizabeth and husband, Cory, Sevierville, Tenn.; and a great-granddaughter, Jocelynn Paige, Sevierville.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Jay.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Deacon Ray Pieretti.
