Riccardo Girello Sr.

Riccardo Girello Sr. of Scott Twp. died Saturday morning in his home. His wife was Margaret Elizabeth Girello who died July 26, 2009. The couple had been married for 59 years.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., he was the son of the late Frank and Susie (Macchia) Girello, Riccardo graduated High School and went on to serve in the Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement he worked as a truck driver for Associated Transport and Fowler and Williams Trucking. He has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarks Summit since the 1960.

Riccardo loved to fish, was a man of few words, had a heart of gold. He was always very active and vibrant. He rode motorcycles until he was 82 and was always the first call when a family member needed help. He had the best sense of humor and could make anyone laugh.

Also surviving are three daughters, Denise Reinhart and husband, William, Waverly; Joanie Garnecki and husband, Frank, Clarks Summit; and Bonnie Richards, Dalton; a son, Riccardo Jr. and wife, Terri, Punta Gorda, FL.; three sisters May, Helen, and Gloria; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Cara, and Courtney; three great-grandchildren Crosby, Isiah, and Sentell, and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School St. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Cemetery, Vestal, N.Y. with Military Honors.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit.
