Ray H. Slack of Tunkhannock, formerly of Rochester, N.Y., died on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, peacefully at home.
Born in Rural Valley, PA, on May 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Ray and Leanore Schrecengost Slack. His twin brother was the late Roy Slack. Ray grew up in Swissvale outside of
Pittsburgh, where he met the love of his life, his wife Jaclyn Hood Weichel Slack.
He graduated from California State University and later moved his family to Rochester, N.Y., where he was a long-
time manager at Xerox Corporation. He retired in 1998.
Ray loved to play golf and to watch all kinds of sports. He particularly liked football and the Steelers.
He was proud of his family and their accomplishments, and he loved to get everyone together for big family dinners where he could preside over the table. He and Jackie liked to travel and attend the theater. Ray was a big foodie and a chocoholic who enjoyed nothing more than sampling a new restaurant or getting together with his close circle of friends from Rochester.
He is also survived by daughters Lynne Shedlock and her husband, Bob Shedlock, Clarks Summit;
and Amy McGrath and her husband, Tom McGrath, Garner, N.C.; granddaughters Elizabeth Shedlock, Berrysburg, and Kathleen Shedlock and her fiancée Dylan Galper, Pittsburgh; grandchildren Paige McGrath and Ben McGrath, at home; sister-in-law Penny Weichel, Oil City; sister-in-law, Patricia Slack, Pittsburgh; and numerous cousins, nieces, and great nieces.
The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
