Rae Millicent Camin, 98, of Reston, Va., died Monday morning at home of heart failure. Rae and her husband Henry had been married for 71 years prior to his death in 2017.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Haydn and Harriet "Hattie" Crandon Samuel. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and Scranton Lackawanna Business College. During the 1940's Rae was a bookkeeper at a flooring company in Scranton. Rae and Henry founded and operated Camin's poultry farm in Chinchilla. Rae was a long time active member of Peace Lutheran Church in Scranton. Rae dearly loved living her life on Scott Road in Chinchilla along with her husband Henry, family and her loving neighbors who she adored.
Surviving are two sons, Henry Camin Jr. and wife, Janice, Warriors Mark, Pennsylvania and Robert Camin and wife, Rhoda, Reston, Virginia; two grandchildren, Henry John Camin III PhD, Reston, Virginia and Michael Camin and wife Amanda, Moscow, Idaho; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Elizabeth and Lillian; several nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Samuel, Jeanne Winebrake and Leah Smith and brothers, Haydn and Gordon Samuel.
A private interment at Abington Hills Cemetery will be planned at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
