One last poem for dad:
On Thursday, Phil Scheuermann passed away after 56 years of life,
Taken by cancer one month after Liz Kulkarni, his wife.
He is survived by his Alexandra, his daughter,
To whom he was the most amazing father.
Mary, Mike, Andy, and Theresa fondly remember their brother,
And he is also missed by Marilyn, his loving mother.
He was born in Pittsburgh, but moved to Park Ridge, Illinois,
Where he went to grade school and grew up as a boy.
Phil got his degree from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign,
Before he moved to Chicago, and architecture became his domain.
While working in the city, he met Liz, his future spouse,
A few years later, they had Alex, moved to PA, and bought a house.
Phil loved being outside and taking walks with their dog Max,
And enjoyed travelling and reading books to relax.
But what he enjoyed most was being a dad,
Watching Alex grow up from a baby to a high school grad.
So dad thank you for eighteen years with the most amazing man I know,
I'll love you forever, wherever I go.
A celebration of life was held by a private service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Dr. Desai's research for Glioblastoma at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, which helped Phil battle his cancer with endless medical breakthroughs.
