Listen to Obituary
Penny Joy Feola, 51, of Scranton died unexpectedly Wednesday evening at her West Side apartment.Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of John Thomas and Beverly Liljeros, and stepdaughter of Larry Liljeros.

She was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and was employed as a waitress at Alexander's Restaurant in Olyphant for many years. She was most recently employed by McCarthy Cab Co.

It's not often that we have the blessing of knowing someone as beautifully spirited as Penny. Her generosity and kindness were known by all her true friends. She was the type of person that would always offer to help you if she could. She wanted everyone to be happy, and would go out of her way to make your day brighter with her funny stories and jokes. Family and friends were her constant concern, and spending time with them brought her pleasure. She loved to decorate for the holidays and have casual gatherings that brought everyone together. She found peace in the outdoors and spent many happy weekends and holidays camping with friends at the cabin. She learned to roll with the punches and chose to look for the good in everyone.

Also surviving are a daughter, Dana Marie Feola and her spouse, Carlos Agueda, Wilkes-Barre; a brother, John Scott Thomas and his wife, Amy, Diamond Head, Miss.; five grandchildren, Ashland Miracle Feola, Dylan James Kilmer, Marta, Nasia, Karla and Serenity Agueda; her loving companion of 11 years, Travis Mays, Scranton; and her beloved cat, Sophie.
