Listen to Obituary
Pauline Elizabeth Wells, 74, Dalton, died Friday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital in Scranton after a long battle with leukemia. She is survived by her husband, James A. Wells.

Born in Clarks Summit, daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian Pringle Menichiello, Pauline was a graduate of Abington Heights High School, class of 1957, and early in life she was an associate for Acme Markets in Clarks Summit. She married her husband, James, Oct. 21, 1967. This year they would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.

She was a member of East Benton United Methodist Church. Pauline loved being outside, enjoying nature and long walks in the fall foliage. You could find her either working on her flowers, gardening or taking care of her family, because, above all, Pauline most loved spending time with her family.

Also surviving are a son, James and wife, Amanda, Alpharetta, Ga.; two daughters, Lisa Wells, Hoboken, N.J.; and Pamela Wells, South Orange, N.J.; a brother, David Menichiello, Binghamton, N.Y.; two sisters, Carolyn Mayo, Lake Winola; and Donna Menichiello, Hop Bottom.

A memorial service will be held on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. Catherine Parsons. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Hickory Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday from 5 until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the Calli Fund, 82 Long Pine Lane, Factoryville, PA 18419, a benefit for children with leukemia.
